Peter Navarro’s Background and Career
Peter Navarro is an American economist, author, and former government official who served as the Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy under President Donald Trump. Born in 1949, Navarro earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Riverside, and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
Navarro’s career spans academia, business, and government. He has taught economics at the University of California, Irvine, and has authored several books on economics, trade, and public policy, including “Death by China” and “The Coming China Wars.” In the business world, Navarro has worked as a consultant and investment banker.
